The 2025 SLS Spring Election is here! This is your opportunity to get involved with student government here at Windsor Law and make a difference in your school’s community.

Please access the nomination package here, which contains rules, election schedule, and the nomination application within.

If you are running, please submit one or two paragraphs that introduce yourself and your platform to the Chief Election Officer, Jen Spencer at slschair@uwindsor.ca. It will be included here on the election page so that students can familiarize themselves with candidates. Please also include a headshot and one piece of campaign material.

Election FAQs

1. Can I hang posters around the school? Yes. Just be mindful of placement. Do not cover outlets, light switches, other signs, etc. Do not put on painted walls- try place posters on doors, unpainted cement support, glass, etc.

2. How much can I spend? A maximum allowance of $40 per candidate. This is out of candidates’ pockets and will not be reimbursed.

3. I cannot make it to the All Candidates Debate, will I be disqualified? If you have a valid reason, the Chair’s discretion may excuse you from attending. You will need to provide either a written statement or short video to outline your platform.

4. Can I run as a slate? Yes, please just send the Chair an email to notify.

5. Do my campaign materials need to be approved? Yes, please use the attached form to submit materials for consideration.

6. Do I have to submit Instagram posts? You can post to Instagram without prior approval if the content is the same and/or largely siimilar to other content submitted to the CEO. Please tag @windsorlawelections to everything posted to ensure it is monitored.
